Atlantic Caribbean Union to Celebrate Biblical Excellence with Bible Connection Finals

By Henry R. Moncur III | ACTU Communication

The Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU) is preparing to host its annual Bible Connection Finals on September 27, 2025.  This spiritually enriching event brings together top youth Bible students from across the union territory — including The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos — in a vibrant showcase of biblical knowledge, faith, and fellowship,

Dedicated to fostering deeper engagement with Scripture, encouraging spiritual growth, and strengthening the faith community across the region, Bible connection will be held in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

What is Bible Connection?

Formerly known as “Bible Boom,” Bible Connection is an initiative of the Inter-American Division designed to deepen young people’s engagement with Scripture, promote personal spiritual development, and inspire a collective commitment to living out biblical principles. It challenges participants, ages 10 to 25, to study selected books of the Bible thoroughly and compete in a quiz-style format at local, conference, union, and, eventually, division level.

The competition encourages not just memorization, but a deeper understanding of God’s Word and its application to daily life.

Union-level Showdown: Best of the Best

This year’s union-level finals will gather the conference champions from the North Bahamas, South Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands. These finalists have emerged victorious at their local church and conference levels and are now preparing for an intense but inspiring showdown.

Only one will advance to represent the Atlantic Caribbean Union at the Inter-American Division Finals which are scheduled to take place November 15, 2025, in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The Importance of Bible Connection
Connecting with the Bible is fundamental to fostering a stronger, more vibrant faith community. Regular engagement with Scripture helps believers gain clarity on God’s will, find encouragement in times of need, and develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible Connection initiative seeks to unify the region and youth in a shared commitment to Bible truth and spiritual growth.

Leaders Highlight the Purpose

Andrew Burrows, ATCU Youth Ministries director, shared the deeper goal behind the event.  “Bible Connection is about more than competition. It’s about helping young people encounter the power of the Word for themselves. When youth know the Bible, they know truth, purpose, and hope and that transforms how they live and lead,” said Burrows.

Peter Kerr, ATCU president, highlighted the importance of Bible Connection for our youth and the advancement of the Seventh-day Adventist church.  He also encouraged the wider membership to use this opportunity to join our youth in studying the word.  “As we approach September 27, let us not only support our youth, but also immerse ourselves in God’s Word and renew our spiritual dedication. The Bible Connection is an inspiring opportunity to strengthen faith, uplift each other, and grow together as a community rooted in Scripture. Join us in making this day a meaningful celebration of the divine truth that guides and transforms our lives,’ Kerr said.

A Celebration of Faith and Fellowship

In addition to the competition itself, the event on September 27 will feature praise and worship, spiritual messages, and moments of encouragement for all participants and supporters. Churches and families are encouraged to tune in virtually via Zoom or attend in person to support their representatives.
