Cayman Islands Conference welcomes newest pastor, Dr. Ivor Harry

By CIC Communication Department

There was excitement in the air as the Northside and East End Churches, in separate services, welcomed their new Pastor, Dr. Ivor Harry.
Conducting the installation service on Sabbath, June 11 were Pastors Clarke and Dracket, conference president and secretary respectively.

The first elders of the churches, Elders Marvin Frederick [Northside] and Willard Welcome [East End], brought greetings and welcomed the pastor on behalf of the church members.

The members expressed delight at finally receiving their pastor who arrived on island on Thursday, June 9, 2011, and pledged their prayerful and full support for the ministry of Pastor Harry.

In his response to the welcome, Pastor Harry said that he came to serve the membership and looked forward to visiting with them in their homes. He said that he would also seek to serve the communities in which the churches function.

Dr. Harry hails from Guyana and recently served as Youth, Education, and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) director for the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

It was noted that Pastor Harry’s family will join him during the summer, as their only daughter graduates from Northern Caribbean University (NCU) in August with her B.Sc. The NCU Board has invited Dr. Harry, along with our conference president, to be one of the 2011 graduation speakers.

We welcome Pastor Harry to the Cayman Islands Conference and to the eastern district. May God bless the district and the Harry family.
