Under the theme “That the World May Know,” the Adventist-laymen’s Services & Industries (ASI) Inter-America Convention 2012 will be held in Antigua, Guatemala during August 15-18, 2012.. Hundreds of delegates from the twenty-one unions within the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (IAD), including the Atlantic Caribbean Union, are expected to participate.
According to its mission statement, ASI is an organization of business and professional persons who, as members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, use their business and business contacts to foster the mission of the Adventist church.

Keith Major, president of the ASI chapter in the South Bahamas Conference reiterates that “as we near the end of time with all the signs - geological, physical, spiritual and otherwise - we are consumed with sharing Christ in the marketplace.” He further states that “we spread His gospel everyday through our lives, our interactions, our businesses and our colleagues.

There is much work to do. If it is shared, we will get more done. We are driven by the text in Revelation 3:20, ‘behold I come quickly and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be.’"

Also, Andrew Hanna, a building contractor and member of the ASI, recently recounted how his consistently sharing the good news of the gospel with his employees and other colleagues in the construction industry brought hope to a sub-contractor who was going through a tragic experience in his life. Today, that person has found joy in his relationship with Christ.

The four-day event will feature networking, prayer, and testimony sessions, business seminars, project management, and more. Guest speakers for the convention include, Pastor Robert S. Folkenberg, former president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and Dr. Bertram Melbourne, university professor and author. The overall motto for ASI is “Sharing Christ in the Marketplace.” More information on ASI and the Convention can be obtained by visiting http://asi.interamerica.org/
