Dr. Cheryl Rolle, a Bahamian by birth and an educator with twenty-nine years’ experience, has served as a teacher, vice principal, principal, and conference education and children’s ministries director with the Adventist church in the Bahamas. Currently, she is the associate secretary and education, children’s ministries, and communication director of the Atlantic Caribbean Union, positions she has held since January 2011.
Dr. Rolle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University) in Mandeville, Jamaica and her Master of Arts in Secondary Teaching from Loma Linda University in California. She earned her Ed. S. and Ed. D. degrees in Educational Administration and Leadership from La Sierra University in Riverside, California.
Her contribution to the Bahamian community has included serving as a member of the Bahamas Association of Seventh-day Adventist Educators, the Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools, the College of the Bahamas Council, the Bahamas Family Life and Health Education Advisory Board, and the Advisory Council on Education in the Bahamas. She has also served as a counselor in the Pathfinder organization.
In addition to reading, traveling, shopping, and fishing, Dr. Rolle loves working and interacting with children and young people.
She and her husband, Pedro, have two adult children, Pedro II and Myesha.
The education department works to provide a balanced spiritual, mental, physical, social, and vocational education in harmony with Seventh-day Adventist standards and ideals that will prepare children and the general membership to be productive citizens in their communities and heaven.

The department’s objectives are
  • To increase teacher and administrator efficiency
  • To provide leadership in acquainting members with the imperatives and philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist education.
  • To develop union K-12 curriculum guides that are relevant to students’ needs and meets local and Inter-American Division curriculum standards.
  • To encourage the provision of safe school facilities that are conducive to effective teaching and learning and can accommodate current and projected enrolments.
  • To promote the cultivation of school climates that nurture the total development of students
  • To advocate for improved financial support and operation of Adventist education
  • To collaborate with educational personnel and the Inter-American Division department of education to realize the goal and objectives of the education program.
