Arleen B. Sands

Director

Elder Arleen B. Sands was born in New Providence and is married to Elder Benjamin Franklyn Sands, her soul mate.  Together they have one son and three daughters, who are all young professionals, and seven grandchildren.

Arleen retired from the Civil Service in 2017 after serving as Office Manager and Human Resource Manager for 47 years.

Currently she and her husband are owners of Freeport Properties, a real estate Company.

She enjoys serving in her community and is currently serving as the President of the Grand Bahama Craft Association and Justice of the Peace for The Bahamas.

Arleen’s passion is working for the Lord and from the early age of 15 she has served in every department of the church except Adventist Men’s Leader and Deacon.  She currently serves as First Elder and Community Services Director of the Freeport Church, member of the North Bahamas Conference Committee and the only Women’s Ministries Director in the North since 1994.

She has preached the gospel in New Providence, Grand Bahama, Bimini, Abaco, Long Island and Miami Florida. As a result of a two week campaign conducted by the laymen of the Freeport Church, she was the speaker and eight precious souls were baptized.

Recently, Arleen was elected to serve as Women’s Ministries Director for the Atlantic Caribbean Union.

Arleen loves to design and sew straw products, fishing and watching basketball.

She loves the Lord, lives a life of service to others and lives James chapter 1 verse 2 by counting it all joy when she falls into divers temptation.
