Atlantic Caribbean Union Celebrates Adventist Education Day

The Atlantic Caribbean Union of Seventh-day Adventists (ATCU) will observe Adventist Education Day on January 31, 2026, with churches across the territory uniting in a shared emphasis on the value, impact, and mission of Adventist education.

The ATCU currently oversees five educational institutions: three K–12 schools, one senior high school, and one university, each committed to developing students academically while grounding them in Christian faith and service.

Role of Adventist Education Day

Adventist Education Day offers congregations a moment to reflect on how Adventist schools foster not only academic excellence but also spiritual growth, character development, and a lifelong commitment to service, while reaffirming the church’s mission of holistic education.

Across the union, congregations will highlight the transformative role Adventist education plays in shaping students who are grounded in the Bible, prepared for leadership, and dedicated to God’s purpose for their lives.

Education with Eternal Purpose

Adventist education is deliberately designed to nurture the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Through a Christ-centered approach to learning, students are encouraged to develop strong moral values, academic excellence, and a sense of service to God and humanity.

Speaking on the day’s significance, Dr. Cheryl Rolle, ATCU Education director, underscored the broader mission of Adventist education. “Adventist education is about more than preparing students for careers. It is about preparing them for life and eternity,” Rolle said. “Our schools intentionally integrate faith and learning, helping students develop robust moral values, a personal relationship with Christ, and a sense of responsibility to serve their communities.”

Highlighting the Benefits of Adventist Education

Adventist Education Day will spotlight the many advantages of Adventist education, including a Christ-centered worldview, safe and nurturing learning environments, strong academic foundations, committed and values-driven educators, and intentional spiritual mentoring. Members will be encouraged to pray for Adventist educators, administrators, and students, and to recommit themselves to supporting the mission of Adventist schools across the union.

Rolle added that the day is also an opportunity for the church to reaffirm its collective responsibility toward Adventist education. “When the church invests in Adventist education, it is investing in the future of the mission,” she noted. “Adventist Education Day reminds us that every classroom is a mission field and every student is a soul entrusted to our care.”

A United Call to Support Adventist Education

The ATCU invites educators, parents, students, and church members to participate in Adventist Education Day activities and to champion Adventist education as a vital ministry of the church.

With Adventist Education Day celebrated on January 31 across the territory, the union remains committed to strengthening its schools and ensuring that Adventist education continues to prepare faithful, capable, and service-oriented leaders for today and tomorrow.
