Atlantic Caribbean Union Gears Up for Women’s Day of Prayer

By Henry R. Moncur III | ATCU Communication

Churches across the Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU) of Seventh-day Adventists will observe Women’s Day of Prayer on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Coordinated by the ATCU Women’s Ministries Department, this annual event falls on the first Sabbath of March and offers a special time for spiritual reflection, heartfelt intercession, and renewed fellowship.

Now embraced by Adventists worldwide, Women’s Day of Prayer provides a unique opportunity for women to pray for one another, their families, communities, and the world. Traditional observances include prayer gatherings, consecration services, worship moments, and programs led by women that invite spiritual insight and active participation in ministry. The day strengthens faith while building supportive networks of prayerful connection across diverse cultures and islands.

“As women from across the ATCU come together in prayer, we join sisters around the world to reflect on the many facets of prayer in our conversations with our heavenly Father,” said Arleen Sands, ATCU Women’s Ministries director. “What a wonderful opportunity to unite in prayer and experience a joyful, undeniable sense of God’s presence. Prayer can bring the comfort many of us are seeking.”

This year’s observance will see communities from the Cayman Islands Conference, the North and South Bahamas Conferences, and the Turks and Caicos Islands Conference come together in collective spiritual focus.  Whether through planned services in local churches, group prayer breakfasts, or informal gatherings, the day is designed to uplift women and encourage all believers to pray with intention and purpose.

The Women’s Day of Prayer serves as a reminder that through prayerful unity, women can strengthen not only their own spiritual lives but also the spiritual bonds within the Seventh-day Adventist family and beyond. The day reflects ATCU’s ongoing commitment to nurture and equip women in faith, service, and leadership throughout the territory.
