The Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU) will participate in the distribution of the Missionary Book of the Year, Words of Hope, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, aligning with the celebration of Global Youth and Children’s Day. This distribution is part of a global initiative of the Seventh‑day Adventist Church, designed to equip church members to share hope-filled literature with their communities as a practical expression of Christian service and outreach.
The publication is an extract from Ellen G. White’s Christ’s Object Lessons and presents a Christ-centered message designed to inspire faith and hope.
By coordinating the book distribution with Global Youth and Children’s Day, ATCU encourages young people and church members to put their faith into action through meaningful service, outreach, and connection with others.
A Legacy of Service Through Literature
Speaking on the significance of the event, Kent Price, ATCU president, shared that “The distribution of the Missionary Book of the Year is much more than a single activity. It is a tangible expression of faith in action. By sharing these books, our members are taking part in God’s mission of love and hope, touching lives, and sowing seeds of inspiration in our communities. This is a vital part of our RISE initiative, where service and spiritual growth are deeply intertwined.”
The Power of the Printed Page
Andrew Burrows, ATCU Publishing Ministries director, highlighted the unique impact of printed materials in outreach. “The printed page has a remarkable ability to make an enduring impression, much like the leaves of autumn that linger with vibrant color. Every book distributed has the potential to inspire, guide, and transform lives. When our youth and members share these books, they are making an indelible mark in the lives of others and proclaiming the message of hope and salvation.”
About Words of Hope
As noted by the Adventist Book Centre, “Words of Hope presents the stories of Jesus and draws practical, down-to-earth lessons from everyday scenes, objects, and incidents of life. Readers will learn about setting priorities, the blessing of generosity, the power of humility, the path to forgiveness, and how to live with optimism. The book guides readers toward a meaningful experience in positive living and brings them closer to Christ, the true source of light from above.”
Across the ATCU territory, encompassing The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands, church members will distribute books strategically in neighborhoods, schools, and communities. By participating in this global initiative, members will not only serve their local communities but also contribute to a worldwide movement of hope‑sharing and spiritual encouragement.
The Missionary Book of the Year distribution strengthens the spiritual life of those who receive the books and fosters character development and a heart for service among the participants. Through this initiative, ATCU continues to empower church members to actively share their faith and make a meaningful difference in the world. Church members across the region are encouraged to prayerfully share the book, as it carries a timely message of encouragement and salvation.
