Christmas and New Year Message

From

Peter Kerr, President, Atlantic Caribbean Union

My dear brothers and sisters throughout the Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU), I greet you heartily today in the precious name of our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we draw closer to the sacred and usually festive Christmas season, and to the end of 2022, and to the eagerly-awaited year of 2023, I think that you will agree with me that there are countless blessings for which we must be thankful.

This Christmas holiday finds us slowly emerging out of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic, and I’m sure that we can all breath a huge sigh of relief and raise our hearts and voices in a resounding shout of praise to our GOD Who has been with us throughout this terrible season.

I am aware that some of you, even now, might be battling some serious health issues while others might be suffering the loss of a loved one whose absence now leaves an aching void in your hearts, at the dinner table, in the living room, or around the Christmas tree. We know that no matter how difficult life gets, God will take care of you.

The first Christmas day when the hosts of heavenly angels sang to the shepherds in their fields, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill to men,” was the day that God gave to all mankind His greatest gift of love. He gave His only begotten Son; and with Him, He has freely given us all things.

This season, therefore, is a time for us to celebrate Jesus. It’s a time to celebrate God’s great love. It’s a time to tell the story of Jesus and His love, and it is also a time to show some love to our fellowmen, not just to our own family members and friends, but also to people who we don’t even know. It’s a time to show some love to everyone. So, my friends, let us give love at this Christmas time, and let us all experience the joy of giving.

My Jennifer and I along with our family are joined by Dr. Cheryl Rolle, our executive secretary, and her family; Elder Roderick Sands, our treasurer, and his family; and the entire ATCU family at union headquarters in wishing for each one of you and your loved ones a safe, blessed, and holy Christmas holiday and a very blessed and prosperous New Year.
