Each year, the global Seventh-day Adventist Church begins the new year with a sacred focus known as the 10 Days of Prayer. From January 7–17, 2026, the Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU) will join believers around the world, under the theme “Unleashed,” to call on God to release the Holy Spirit in our lives, our churches, our institutions, and our communities.
The Purpose of the 10 Days of Prayer
The 10 Days of Prayer is more than a seasonal emphasis; it is a spiritual posture. Modeled after the experience of the early church in the book of Acts, the 10 Days of Prayer invites God’s people to wait on Him, pray earnestly, and expect divine empowerment. The theme Unleashed reminds us that when God’s people surrender fully, the Holy Spirit is released to move beyond our limitations, fears, and routines, igniting revival, empowering bold witness, and transforming lives.
At its core, the 10 Days of Prayer is about alignment with God’s will. It is a time of consecration, repentance, unity, and renewed dependence on the Holy Spirit. As individuals, families, and congregations pray together, faith is strengthened, hearts are softened, relationships are restored, and God’s mission becomes clearer for the days ahead.
UNLEASHED!: A Daily Rhythm of Prayer
The Unleashed! emphasis is designed to engage believers at every level of life and faith. Each of the ten days includes three intentional daily prayer moments, encouraging a rhythm of personal devotion, relational connection, and corporate worship:
First, time alone with God. Each day begins with personal prayer and Bible study. This private time allows individuals to listen for God’s voice, reflect on Scripture, and invite the Holy Spirit to work deeply and personally.
Next, family and friend circle. Participants are encouraged to gather their family members or close friends for daily prayer. These moments strengthen spiritual bonds, nurture faith at home, and create safe spaces for intercession, encouragement, and shared trust in God.
Then, church family. Church members are invited to join together for a multi-generational daily prayer experience. These corporate prayer gatherings reflect the unity of the body of Christ, reminding us that revival is not just personal—it is communal.
Together, these three prayer movements create space for the Holy Spirit to be truly unleashed—from the private heart, to the home, and into the church.
ATCU’s Commitment to the Prayer Movement
In this spirit, ATCU is proud to be an active participant in the 10 Days of Prayer across our territory. As an institution committed to service, development, and excellence, ATCU recognizes that lasting impact is sustained only when it is grounded in prayer and dependence on God. By joining this world-wide initiative, ATCU affirms its commitment to spiritual leadership and collective faith.
“As we participate together across the territory, the 10 Days of Prayer becomes a powerful reminder that we are stronger when we pray together,” noted Kent Price, ATCU president. “We are reminded that prayer is not preparation for the work, it is the work. It is an opportunity to lay our plans before God, intercede for our leaders and communities, and ask the Holy Spirit to move in fresh ways among us.”
