The Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU) will hold its Departmental Advisory from April 19 to 22, 2026, gathering union and conference officers and directors for a focused time of prayer, planning, and strategic alignment. The advisory is a key moment for setting the direction and priorities for the new quinquennium, ensuring that departmental ministries move forward with unity and purpose across the territory.
Daily Schedule and Participants
Each day will open with devotional sessions, grounding discussions in spiritual reflection before moving into plenary meetings and departmental breakouts.
Departments represented will include Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL), Education, Publishing Ministries, Communication, Trust Services, Women’s Ministries, Sabbath School, Ministerial Association, Youth Ministries, Children’s and Adolescent Ministries, Stewardship Ministries, Family Ministries, Health Ministries, Personal Ministries, and administrative advisories for presidents, secretaries, and treasurers.
A Time for Direction, Vision, and Collaboration
Departmental advisories provide leadership, inspiration, and guidance as departments shape shared vision and strategy. Like Adventist world church advisories that bring together directors to align mission and goals, the ATCU advisory will review past initiatives, identify emerging needs, and craft clear objectives for the next five years of ministry.
Through plenary sessions and departmental consultations, leaders will discuss best practices, regional challenges, and opportunities for innovation. The emphasis will be on strengthening collaboration between departments and conferences so that ministry efforts remain coordinated and impactful throughout the Atlantic Caribbean territory.
A Word from the ATCU Executive Secretary
Cheryl Rolle, executive secretary of the Atlantic Caribbean Union, underscored the significance of the upcoming advisory. “This departmental advisory is about more than meetings and reports; it is about setting direction for the quinquennium. It gives us the opportunity to listen to one another, to hear the voice of God together, and to align our plans so that every department moves forward with clarity, purpose, and unity of mission.”
Rolle also noted that the advisory creates space for collective reflection and forward thinking, allowing departments to move from isolated planning to shared vision.
What Is Ahead
As departments prepare for a meaningful and productive gathering, leaders anticipate that the advisory will strengthen departmental identity, sharpen strategic focus, and renew commitment to the mission of the church throughout the Atlantic Caribbean region.
The ATCU Departmental Advisory stands as a reminder that effective ministry requires thoughtful planning, spiritual discernment, and cooperative leadership. By seeking God’s guidance together, the union aims to chart a clear and faithful path for the next five years of service and witness.
