Church leaders and laypersons of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Atlantic Caribbean Union (ATCU) will engage in the annual year-end business meetings of the executive committee to be held November 25-26, 2024, at the union headquarters in Nassau, The Bahamas.

According to Dr. Cheryl Rolle, ATCU executive secretary, the meeting of approximately 33 executive committee members and invitees provides the organizational units of the Adventist church in the Atlantic Caribbean region the opportunity to thank God for His blessings and to make plans for future growth and development.  “The year-end meetings are important for the Adventist church because it allows time to celebrate God’s leading of the church and to reflect on what God has accomplished through the church.   It is also a time when the church gives an account of its stewardship in the areas of finance, evangelism, and the various ministries.  Finally, it is a time when the church projects for the future.”

This year’s theme, “Let Him Lead the Way,” drives an agenda focused on initiatives and projects that will strengthen the direction of the Adventist church in ATCU in fulfilling the gospel commission to reach more people for Christ.  Of particular emphasis will be the plans for the upcoming union-wide Discipleship and Soul-winning Coaching Initiative that will be held during February 8-22, 2025.

This year also will mark the return of the annual symposium to be held Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church in New Providence, The Bahamas.  “This is time for us to gather and hear reports from our fields and, in particular, the plans which they have been implementing as we prepare for the Discipleship and Soul-winning Coaching Institute in 2025 when we will see numerous simultaneous evangelistic campaigns occurring in each of our fields in the union and when we expect to see the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and many souls won to Christ,” said Peter Kerr, ATCU president.  “All of us can play a role in sharing the love of Jesus, and we look forward to the members of ATCU embracing with intense passion the Discipleship and Soul-winning Coaching Institute and the mission to proclaim the gospel.”

Pre-meetings in preparation for the annual year-end business meetings of the executive committee will be held November 18-20, 2024.   These pre-meetings include various boards and committees that help to facilitate the efficient operation of the work of ATCU.

With a membership of 27,694, ATCU, which is headquartered in Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas, comprises four fields, namely, the Cayman Islands Conference, the North Bahamas Conference, the South Bahamas Conference, and the Turks and Caicos Islands Conference.  In addition, Northern Caribbean University, which is in Mandeville, Jamaica, is jointly owned and operated by ATCU and the Jamaica Union.
